Island Prep

Well, the countdown is now at one week. One week from today, I will be sitting in an airport, preparing to board a plane to live on the island of Martha's Vineyard for a semester. It is still so incredibly surreal. I haven't even begun packing. =D

I'll be using this blog to post updates, pictures, and possibly videos. I'll also post pictures on Facebook, but this is place to get the low-down on what's happening.

To say that I'm excited would be an understatement. I'm beyond thrilled and overwhelmed at the opportunity before me. I get to live on an island for 3 1/2 months, making music 24/7 with people who are committed to and passionate about the same things as me. I get to watch the leaves change color, experience a New England autumn, and see the famous Christmas decorations in Times Square when we visit New York City. Whew! I'm so blessed, it boggles my mind.

Of course, that's not to say that I won't be leaving a part of my heart behind. I've never been away from home for so long before, and I'm having to wrench myself away from Biola, which is harder than I anticipated. I thought I would only go down for four days to see people, and yet I've already visited twice since then, and I'll probably make a third trip before I leave.

However, even though it's hard to leave, I'm ready. I'm SO ready for this. A dear friend of mine asked me today what I was most excited about. I thought for a moment, then said, "growth". I feel so primed for growth and change. I'm giddy with excitement over what God is going to do.

I invite you (that is, whoever reads this!) to join me on this adventure. I cannot be selfish with this - I so very much want to share it with you all. =)
