Wow, what a race! I've grown up watching the Kentucky Derby every year, and it has never failed to be the most exciting two minutes in sports! But ah, this "Running of the Roses" was undeniably one of the greatest upsets in the Derby's 135 year history! "Mine That Bird", a relatively unknown three year-old, and set at 50-1 odds of winning (those are veeeeeery bad odds, people) shot like a bullet through the field of million dollar horses and purported favorites, breezing down the fairway as though the sloppy, muddy track was firm grassland. Watch the fabulous video!
The race is only about 2-3 min long, and then it's 6-7 min of the jockey cheering and crying. Watch that if you want, but if not, at least skip to about 9 minutes in and watch the aerial shot where you can see "Mine That Bird" fly along the rail, weaving through the field to claim the win. It's breath-taking!
